How to Draw a Bison
In this tutorial, I will show you how to draw a bison. Thanks to a simple instruction, you will easily draw this animal and have a good time.
Now you will learn how to draw a bison. This lesson is suitable for all beginner artists. This is a large wild bull that has a long, soft coat. Despite their massive weight, the bison can run fast and jump high.
The bison has a massive head, a wide forehead and a short neck. The bison has short horns on its head and a hump on the nape. You can see all these features in the figure.
Try to correctly depict all parts of the bison’s body. During the lesson, take your time and often check your drawing with my example to achieve the best result.

How to Draw a Bison
- Draw the front of the face.
Depict a smooth curved line of the same shape as in the example.
- Add the elements of the face.
Sketch out the eye and the nose.
- Add the horn and the top of the head.
Using curved lines, draw the horn and add hair on the head with short strokes.
- Depict the upper body.
Draw the wide back with short strokes of various shapes.
- Sketch out the back leg.
The hind leg has the wide base and the narrow underside.
- Draw the front leg.
The front leg is roughly the same shape as the back leg.
- Add the rest of the legs.
Draw the front and back legs that are further away from us.
- Detail the fur.
With the help of thin jagged lines depict the hair on the head, neck and back of the torso.
- Color the bison.
Use brown for fur. Color the horn beige and the eyes black. Add highlights to the eyes.
