How to Draw an Astronaut
This drawing guide will help you learn how to draw an astronaut. This tutorial is quite simple and consists of nine steps.
So in this lesson, you will learn how to draw an astronaut step by step. I think you have seen astronauts more than once in various cartoons, films, books, or educational TV programs. An astronaut is a person trained, equipped, and deployed by a human spaceflight program to serve as a commander or crew member aboard a spacecraft.
I’m sure this lesson will not be too difficult for you, even if you don’t have any drawing experience yet. I have made these instructions easy enough for any child to follow.

How to Draw an Astronaut
- Draw the outline of the head.
You can depict the astronaut’s head as two circles of different sizes.
- Add the torso.
Draw it with straight lines below the head. This part looks like a rectangle without one side.
- Picture the astronaut’s legs.
Use straight and rounded lines to represent these elements.
- Add the astronaut’s hands.
Depict the two arms on the right and left sides of the torso. They should look the same.
- Add an astronaut backpack.
Depict it from behind the astronaut. You can use curved lines to do this.
- Draw a few elements.
Outline a panel on the astronaut’s chest and also draw the lines of his sleeves.
- Complete the drawing of the astronaut costume.
Add two lines on the helmet, details on the sleeves of the costume, and also outline the hose.
- Erase the auxiliary lines.
Remove any unnecessary lines from the drawn astronaut with an eraser.
- Color the drawing.
Use different shades of blue to color the astronaut.
