How to Draw Sarah Connor: Introduction
Terminator characters are among the most charismatic and memorable figures in classic cinema. Previously, we learned how to draw the Terminator, the central character of the films bearing the same name. In this guide, I’ll show you how to draw Sarah Connor, one of the main characters who first appeared in the series’ debut film.
As you may already know, drawing well-known characters becomes easier when you study their defining features carefully. This means identifying the most important elements and simplifying the details as much as possible, focusing only on what truly matters in the final drawing.
In this lesson on how to draw Sarah Connor, I’ll demonstrate this approach. We’ll illustrate her signature hairstyle and outfit while making sure to include her gun.
At the same time, we won’t overcomplicate the drawing with unnecessary details, keeping it clear and recognizable. If you are ready, then take your art supplies and start this Sarah Connor drawing tutorial.

How to Draw Sarah Connor
- Draw the head and torso.
To start, draw the head of Sarah Connor. Draw a slightly rounded shape with a slight taper at the bottom to form the chin. Then, below the head, draw the torso of the character. Keep the lines of the head and torso light and smooth.
- Draw Sarah Connor’s facial features.
First, draw the eyes placed symmetrically near the middle of the face. Below the eyes, draw a small curved line for the mouth. To define the nose, a very short curved line or even a simple dot will suffice, as this is a simplified drawing. Sketch the eyebrows above the eyes.
- Sketch the bangs of the character.
To draw the bangs, start at the top of the forehead and sketch downward, creating a series of short, jagged lines to represent her fringe. The bangs should cover part of the forehead but still leave space for the eyes to be visible. Then, draw the top of the hairstyle with a curved line.
- Draw the ponytail of Sarah Connor.
Sketch the hair extending from the back of her head and curving upward before flowing down over her shoulder. The ponytail should have a slightly wavy shape. Keep the ends of the strands slightly jagged to give the character an authentic look. Then, draw the ears at the sides of the head.
- Draw the arms of Sarah Connor.
With the head and hair completed, move on to drawing Sarah Connor’s upper body. Start by sketching her shoulders and arms. Since this is a simplified drawing, the arms should be relatively short and slightly rounded. Next, outline her tank top, drawing the neckline and shoulder straps.
- Add the belt, hands, and gun.
First, draw a horizontal line across the waist of Sarah Connor to create the belt. Add a small buckle and a few simple lines to indicate folds in the fabric. Next, sketch her hands, keeping them small. You can illustrate a handgun in one hand. For the gun, draw a simple rectangular shape with a rounded handle.
- Add the legs and feet.
Since this is a simplified drawing, the legs should be relatively short. Sketch simple vertical lines extending downward from her waist, curving slightly before narrowing at the ankles. Add simple rounded feet at the bottom. For the boots, draw two horizontal lines at the center of each leg.
- Finalize the sketch.
Erase any unnecessary guidelines from your drawing of Sarah Connor. Check the proportions one last time, ensuring that the head, body, and legs are drawn correctly. This is also a good opportunity to add any final adjustments to the hairstyle, outfit, or accessories.
- Add color to your sketch.
Start with the skin tone, using a light peach or beige shade. Next, color her hair a dark brown. Her tank top should be black or dark gray, while her pants should be a deep green or olive shade to match her military-style appearance. The belt can be a darker shade of gray, and the gun should be black or dark metallic gray.
