How to Draw a Ballerina
In this tutorial, I will show you how to draw a ballerina. I am sure that you will enjoy this fascinating lesson.
With this simple step-by-step guide, you will learn how to draw a ballerina and once again train your ability to draw a human figure. You can apply the acquired skills to create new, beautiful drawings.
In this lesson, you will draw a young, pretty ballet dancer in stage clothes. The facial features of the ballerina are not detailed, so drawing the face will not cause any difficulties, but pay special attention to the position of the arms and legs and try to correctly portray the dance pose.
The ballerina stands on her toes, and her hands occupy one of the main positions in the ballet. You see that the ballerina is wearing a puffy dress and there are special shoes with hard socks called pointy shoes on her feet.
You can easily draw all the elements if you carefully and accurately follow each drawing step. For your convenience, each step has a small hint and each new line is marked in red.

Use smooth, rounded lines and short strokes to depict spiky strands.
- Draw the neck.
Below the head, draw a small shape that has a spiky bottom edge.
- Depict the hands.
With smooth lines, draw two hands in the same position as in the example.
- Add the clothes.
Draw short lines to represent the shoulders, and draw the fluffy skirt with a wavy line.
- Depict the legs.
The ballerina stands on her toes, so the lower part of the legs has an oval shape.
