A delivery truck is a vehicle that is used to deliver various goods and parcels. I’m sure you’ve seen more than once such a truck on the roads of your city.
As with the car drawing tutorial and other vehicles guides, this tutorial will follow the basic principles of drawing vehicles. That is, we will use a lot of straight lines and circles.
So now you have to prepare the drawing materials and then you can start drawing this delivery truck.

How to Draw a Delivery Truck
- Sketch the front section.
First, sketch the cab, which is the front part of the delivery truck. Use straight lines to form a boxy rectangle with a slightly slanted edge for the windshield area. Remember, professional illustrators often build vehicles from these blocky shapes before moving to details. Keep your pencil lines light so adjustments are easy.
- Sketch the window and cargo section.
Next, sketch the rectangular body attached behind the cab. This longer rectangle represents the cargo section of your delivery truck drawing. You can make it shorter or longer than in my example. After that, draw the windows at the front of the cab using a couple of straight lines.
- Draw the delivery truck wheels.
Now it’s time to give the truck its wheels. Draw two circles under the cab and the cargo body. Try to make them the same size and shape. You can place a small dot in the middle of each circle to help with symmetry. Then draw a smaller circle inside each wheel to represent the rims.
- Add the lights and bumpers.
Sketch the simple shapes for the taillight and rear bumper at the back edge of the cargo box. After that, draw the front bumper and headlight, using similar straight lines. If you want to draw a delivery truck of a different type, you can use smoother and more curved lines for the bumpers and lights.
- Sketch the delivery box.
Now sketch the large rectangular cargo box sitting on the truck bed. This is the most important feature that makes it recognizable as a delivery truck. You can make this part more unique, adding more boxes to the truck bed.
- Detail the cargo section.
This step is very simple, but really important to give the drawing of a delivery truck it’s recognizable look. Add a horizontal line along the top of the truck bed to create the top rim of this part. Use a ruler if necessary, as neat straight lines make a big difference in vehicle sketches.
- Draw the door of the delivery truck.
Now sketch the smaller details inside the cab, like the door and its handle. First, draw the delivery truck door using three short lines. Then place a small rectangle for the handle just below the door. Additionally, you can sketch some design lines of inscriptions on the cargo box or body of the truck.
- Clean and darken the lines.
To give your delivery truck drawing a polished look, carefully erase unnecessary guidelines and retrace the important outlines of the truck with smooth, darker strokes. Smooth out uneven curves, especially in the circles for the wheels. Step back and check drawing before tracing.
- Fill the shapes with color.
Traditionally, you can shade the cab a light blue, make the cargo box gray, and keep the wheels dark. In classrooms, I tell students that vehicles don’t always have to follow exact colors, you can experiment with any shades you like. Trucks often have logos or labels on their sides, so you can also add text or symbols.
