How to Draw a Koala Face
- Sketch the outline of the animal head.
To draw a koala face, sketch a rounded shape, slightly flattened at the bottom to mimic the natural look of the koala’s head. This shape should be slightly narrower in the top half to illustrate that part correctly, and slightly wider in the bottom half to convey the animal’s cheeks.
- Draw the eyes of the koala.
Inside the head outline from the previous step, draw two large ovals for the eyes. Position them slightly above the center of the koala face. The ovals of the eyes should be equal in size and slightly tilted to give your drawing of a koala head more cute look.
- Draw the nose of the koala.
Draw a large, rounded oval shape between the eyes for the koala’s signature nose. Place the koala nose right at the center of the face. Next, using two small ovals located at the bottom of the nose outline, draw the koala’s nostrils.
- Sketch the mouth and eyebrows.
Now, using two short curved lines, draw the koala’s mouth, located just below the nose. The mouth should be shaped like a smooth version of the letter W. Next, draw the eyebrows of the koala above the eyes using two small ovals shapes.
- Sketch the outlines of the ears.
Add large, rounded ear shapes on either side of the koala’s face. Start the ears slightly above the top of the head and extend them outward and down to give the koala its distinctive look. The ears should be symmetrical with fluffy edges. This will mimic the texture of a real koala’s fur.
- Add inner ear details.
