How to Draw a Koala Face

  1. Sketch the outline of the animal head.

To draw a koala face, sketch a rounded shape, slightly flattened at the bottom to mimic the natural look of the koala’s head. This shape should be slightly narrower in the top half to illustrate that part correctly, and slightly wider in the bottom half to convey the animal’s cheeks.Sketch the outline of the animal head

  2. Draw the eyes of the koala.

Inside the head outline from the previous step, draw two large ovals for the eyes. Position them slightly above the center of the koala face. The ovals of the eyes should be equal in size and slightly tilted to give your drawing of a koala head more cute look.Draw the eyes of the koala

  3. Draw the nose of the koala.

Draw a large, rounded oval shape between the eyes for the koala’s signature nose. Place the koala nose right at the center of the face. Next, using two small ovals located at the bottom of the nose outline, draw the koala’s nostrils.Draw the nose of the koala

  4. Sketch the mouth and eyebrows.

Now, using two short curved lines, draw the koala’s mouth, located just below the nose. The mouth should be shaped like a smooth version of the letter W. Next, draw the eyebrows of the koala above the eyes using two small ovals shapes.Sketch the mouth and eyebrows

  5. Sketch the outlines of the ears.

Add large, rounded ear shapes on either side of the koala’s face. Start the ears slightly above the top of the head and extend them outward and down to give the koala its distinctive look. The ears should be symmetrical with fluffy edges. This will mimic the texture of a real koala’s fur.Sketch the outlines of the ears

  6. Add inner ear details.

Inside each ear, draw a smaller rounded shape that follows the outline of the outer ear shape. These inner ear sections should be slightly off-center and closer to the base of the head. Add light, wavy lines along the edges to create a fluffy effect.Add inner ear details

  7. Add fur to the cheeks and top of the head.

Along the bottom edges of the koala’s face, draw small, wavy lines to represent the fur. Vary the length and direction of the fur lines slightly to create a soft, natural look. Next, draw the fur on the top of the head using a couple of curved lines.Add fur to the cheeks and top of the head

  8. Gove the koala face sketch a finished look.

Carefully review your sketch and refine all the lines to finalize the koala face drawing. Go over the outlines, including the ears, face, and facial features, to make them bold and clear. Erase any unnecessary guidelines or rough sketches, giving the koala face drawing a clean and polished finish.Gove the koala face sketch a finished look

  9. Add color to your drawing of a koala face.

Use a light gray shade for the face and outer ears, black for the nose and pupils, and a soft pink for the inner ears. You can also add a white highlight to the eyes to make them appear more vibrant. This final step completes the koala face, giving it a finished and appealing look.Add color to your drawing of a koala face

How to Draw a Koala Face for Preschoolers

This simplified version of a tutorial on how to draw a koala face is created specifically for preschoolers and artists, who started drawing just recently. Unlike the first tutorial, which involves more detailed steps and details, this version reduces complexity by focusing only on the basic shapes and key facial elements. It avoids complex outlines and textures, keeping the process simple and achievable for beginners.

To draw a koala face, start by sketching a large oval shape for the head. Add two big, rounded ear shapes on both sides of the head, ensuring they are slightly fluffy to mimic the koala’s soft fur. In the center of the face, draw an oval for the nose, placing it vertically. Below the nose, add a small curve for the mouth.

Include two circles for the eyes, aligning them symmetrically on either side of the nose. Once the outline is complete, fill in the koala face drawing with color: use gray for the head and ears, black for the nose and pupils, and white highlights for the eyes.
