How to Draw a Whale Shark
In this drawing lesson I want to show you how to draw a whale shark. I promise that an interesting and useful pastime awaits you ahead.
The lesson is devoted to the theme of aquatic inhabitants, and now you will learn how to draw a whale shark. This is a large majestic animal that lives in the seas and oceans. Despite their huge size, the whale shark is not dangerous to humans. The whale shark swims slowly, migrating long distances.
The shark has a slightly flattened head, the mouth is very wide and, when opened, takes the form of a wide oval. The dorsal fins are located closer to the tail. The upper body of the shark is covered with stripes and spots. The motley pattern is a characteristic feature of whale sharks.

How to Draw a Whale Shark
- Draw the outline of the body.
Depict the body, the front part of which is rounded, and the back part is narrow and elongated.
- Add head elements.
At the bottom of the head draw the wide mouth and the oval-shaped eye.
- Depict the lateral fin and detail the coloration.
In the lower part of the body, add the wide fin and mark the outline where the color will differ.
- Draw the rest of the fins.
On the back of the body draw several fins of different sizes.
- Depict the tail.
Continue drawing the outlines of the body and add the tail, which is in two parts.
- Sketch out the spots.
On the upper part of the body, successively draw many small circles.
- Draw the stripes.
Depict many thin stripes on the upper body.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Look carefully at your drawing and if you notice any mistakes, correct them.
- Color the drawing.
You will need different shades of blue and black to color the eye.
