How to Draw the Disney Castle

How to draw the Disney castle step by step

1. Sketch the main gate and base line.

   Start by marking width and ground level, drawing a long, straight baseline near the bottom. At the middle, sketch a tall rectangle for the gatehouse and draw an arch opening inside it. On top of this rectangle, draw a short crenellated strip: alternate small squares and gaps to represent battlements.

2. Add side towers to the gate section.

   To continue the front of the castle, place support towers beside the gate. On each side of the gatehouse, draw a narrow vertical rectangle for a buttress-like tower. Cap each tower with a crenellated band matching the center. Keep the tops of the towers level.

3. Draw more towers of the Disney castle.

   Add one more narrow tower at each far side using the same rectangle plus battlement cap. All four towers must be the same size and shape. Maintain equal spacing so the composition reads symmetrical.

4. Add cone roofs to the corner towers.

   Roofs give the castle its fairy-tale look and help the Disney castle look recognizable. On the far left and far right towers, draw tall conical roofs: outline a narrow triangle that rises from each battlement, then draw a flag on a short pole at each tip. Keep both cones equal in height and centered on their towers.

5. Draw the walls of the Disney castle.

   Now, draw the wall sections that sit between the towers and the center gatehouse. After that, draw two short triangle roofs with low pitch. Add a small flagpole on each if desired. Ensure both sides mirror each other so the Disney castle drawing looks symmetrical.

6. Begin drawing the central spire cluster.

   Directly over the gatehouse, sketch slim towers: a tall middle section and slightly shorter ones beside it. Use narrow rectangles for the bodies of the towers and pointed triangles for roofs. This simple structure should also be symmetrical.

7. Sketch the back towers and raise new roofs.

   Behind the left half of the castle, draw a much taller conical tower that rises above the earlier shapes, setting it slightly back so it does not sit on the front wall. On the right side, add a sloped roof block that steps up toward the middle, connecting rear and front volumes.

8. Complete the upper towers and turrets.

   Using a triangular shape, draw the roof of the middle section above the gate. Then, add two or three slender spires of varied heights behind the center group, plus compact turret cones over any flat towers that still need roofs.

9. Color the Disney castle.

   Paint the lower walls and gatehouse in blue tones to indicate the base. Use lighter blue and turquoise for upper towers and spires to push them back in space. Make the roofs a mix of light and medium blues, to give the Disney castle recognizable tones.
