Every young artist wants to learn how to draw a lion. This is not surprising, because the king of beasts could be seen in many cartoons. You’ve watched The Lion King, right?
The lion is considered the king of beasts for a reason. As a true ruler, with all his appearance, he demonstrates greatness, confidence, and calmness.
I believe that this nine-step lesson will be useful and interesting for you.
Materials
- Pencil
- Paper
- Eraser
- Coloring supplies
Time needed: 20 minutes.
How to Draw a Lion
- Draw the lion’s face.
Start drawing the lion with the outline of the face.
- Add details to the face.
Draw the nose, mouth, and eyes on the face.
- Draw the mane.
Depict the lion’s mane as in my example.
- Draw the ear and torso.
In this step, sketch out the ear and torso.
- Draw the legs and tail.
Depict the first pair of lion legs. Don’t forget to draw the tail.
- Continue drawing the legs.
Depict the second pair of legs, then draw a bun of hair at the end of the tail.
- Add details.
Draw the fingers as in my example.
- Remove the guidelines.
This step is intended to remove unnecessary guidelines in the drawing.
- Color the lion drawing.
Color the lion yellow and brown.
