At the end of the lesson, I’ll also show you a second way to draw a manga boy. It uses a completely different approach and style.
This guide has a lot in common with my chibi drawing tutorial, but the overall style is quite different. I’ll explain the main differences as we draw

Alternative Manga Boy Drawing Method
So, I’ve crafted another alternative method for drawing a manga boy, designed to give you more practice and enhance your artistic skills.
This new approach offers a different perspective and additional techniques to explore.
To draw an anime boy with this method, start with a simple U-shape for the chin and add oval eyes, a small nose, and a wide smile. Sketch a spiky hairstyle to frame the face.
In the next steps, outline the body with a simplified shirt and pants. Finalize with colors, adding tone to the hair and clothing.

Improve Your Manga Boy Sketch
Once you’ve finished the main and additional drawings, try changing a few details to create a different manga character.
A new hairstyle, different eyebrows, or another facial expression can completely change the character’s appearance.
You can also experiment with the clothing. Replace the T-shirt with a school uniform, hoodie, jacket, or any outfit that matches the style you’re going for.
Small changes in the pose or the direction of the head can also make the drawing feel much more interesting and unique.
If you’d like to make the character look more complete, add a simple background. A classroom, city street, bedroom, or park all work well for this type of drawing.
As you practice, you’ll find that the same basic construction can be used to create many different manga characters with their own unique appearance.
