In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw a monkey. This guide is very simple and consists of only nine easy steps. You don’t need to be a professional artist to paint this drawing.
Have you ever met a monkey? Maybe you have seen this animal at the zoo or circus? Or perhaps you have met monkeys in the streets during your travels? Monkeys live all over the world and come in various shapes, sizes, and colors. The vast majority of species live in tropical forests, where they move on all four limbs. Monkeys have large brains and are known for their inquisitiveness and intelligence.
Prepare your drawing materials and follow these instructions to make a great drawing!
- Coloring supplies
Time needed: 20 minutes.
How to Draw a Monkey
- Draw the monkey’s head.
Depict the top part of the head as an arc and the bottom part as a curved line.
- Add an outline of the animal’s torso.
Draw it below the previously drawn head with a curved line.
- Depict facial features.
Draw the eyes as ovals, the nose as short straight lines, and the mouth as a curved line.
- Add the monkey’s ears and tail.
Outline the ears as two identical arcs that look like semicircles and the tail as a curved line.
- Draw the monkey’s paws.
The monkey’s paws look similar to each other and are turned inwards.
- Draw two more monkey paws.
At the bottom of the monkey’s body, add the animal’s lower paws, using curved lines.
- Add decorative elements.
Draw the inside of the ears, a line on the belly, and a line around the monkey’s face.
- Erase the auxiliary lines.
Take an eraser to remove unnecessary lines from the monkey’s body.
- Color the drawing.
You can use brown, beige and black to color the monkey.
