Planets are usually round. Each of you knows such planets as Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. By learning how to draw a planet with this easy tutorial, you can use these skills to make many paintings of your own.
For example, you can depict the solar system, space, the Moon, or the Sun, next to which various planets are located. And also you can use the image of this planet as the main subject of your drawing.
In this tutorial, I will tell you about the rules for drawing a planet with rings. Planetary rings are flat formations of dust and ice that orbit a planet. Rings have been found around such planets in the solar system as Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune.

How to Draw a Planet
- Draw the outline of the planet.
To complete this step, depict an incomplete circle and an arc just below it.
- Add the inside of the rings around the planet.
Near the drawn incomplete circle, draw a curved line forming an incomplete oval.
- Depict the outer outline of the planet’s rings.
Now draw a longer, curved line below the one drawn, adding an incomplete oval.
- Sketch out the relief of the planet.
At the top of the planet add some arcs of different sizes.
- Add details.
Depict curved lines on the ring and the surface of the planet.
- Color the drawing.
To color this planet, use orange, yellow, and red.
