The orangutan is one of the largest monkeys in the world. This animal has a significant resemblance to humans. The very word orangutan in Malay means “forest man”. The orangutan’s face area is devoid of wool, their skin has a dark tint. The facial part of the skeleton, as well as the forehead area, is relatively wide.
The jaw of orangutans is quite massive, and the teeth are powerful, which allow them to split the hard shell of nuts. The eyes are located relatively close to each other, and the look indicates that the animal has a good-natured character. There are no claws on the fingers, but there are nails, like human ones. Orangutans have a rather long and stiff coat of a brownish-red hue.
