In this very simple nine-stage drawing instruction, I will show you how to draw a dove for kids.
Doves are among the most abundant birds in the world. In some cultures, they are considered symbols of purity and kindness, while in others they are flying rats.
To draw a dove, you will need a pencil or marker, as well as a sheet of paper. At the very end of the work, you can use a set of colored pencils, paints, or markers for coloring.
Step 1
First, depict a small, round head as an oval and a torso as an elongated oval.
Step 2
Now draw the upper edges of the wings at the top of the torso. Next, draw the top edge of the tail.
Step 3
Connect the neck and torso with a couple of short lines. Now depict a circle eye and a beak.
Step 4
Draw the feathers on the wings of the pigeon with long and smooth lines.
Step 5
Now draw the very top row of feathers using a lot of C-shaped lines.
Step 6
Now, using long and smooth lines, depict the tail that looks like a fan.
Step 7
Draw legs in the lower body of the dove.
Step 8
Now get rid of all the auxiliary lines and make the dove drawing clearer and darker.
Step 9
I painted the beak and legs purple, and the eye black, leaving a round highlight in it. But you can color your dove drawing any other color. You can use pictures of pigeons from the Internet as a reference for coloring.
To make your drawing of a dove more voluminous, you can add shadows and texture to the feathers.
