The figure shows tall buildings of various shapes. In the foreground there is a road and some trees. These are simple objects that you can easily depict in your drawing.
This lesson will require your ability to draw smooth, straight lines. In the process, you can use any tools at hand or draw all the lines yourself.

Materials
- Pencil
- Paper
- Eraser
- Coloring supplies
Time needed: 30 minutes
How to Draw a Cityscape
- Draw a horizon line.
Depict a straight horizontal line at the bottom of the drawing.
- Add some buildings.
Using a few straight lines draw three rectangular buildings.
- Depict the buildings.
In between the buildings drawn earlier, add tall rectangular buildings.
- Detail the buildings.
On each building, consistently draw transverse or longitudinal stripes.
- Draw the buildings in the background.
Use straight lines to represent the distant buildings on the left side of the drawing.
- Sketch out the buildings.
In the background draw some more buildings of different shapes.
- Depict the trees and the road.
At the bottom of the drawing, depict the road using straight lines and draw trees along the road.
- Correct inaccuracies.
If you find errors, then carefully remove them.
- Color the drawing.
You will need different shades of blue and gray, as well as green.
