Firefly is a small beetle that can glow in the dark. This insect has a special organ on the last abdominal segments, due to which light is emitted.
Small lights on a warm summer night are a beautiful sight. Fireflies are found all over the world, on every continent except Antarctica. The glow of fireflies can have different shades – white, orange, green, or blue.
Materials
- Pencil
- Paper
- Eraser
- Coloring supplies
Time needed: 25 minutes
How to Draw a Firefly
- Draw the torso.
Depict an even oval.
- Add the outline of the head.
Sketch out a smooth rounded line to the body.
- Depict the antennae.
Draw two small lines from the head and add small circles at the ends.
- Draw one wing.
From the head to the body, draw a smooth rounded line to depict the wing on the left side.
- Add the second wing.
Repeat the previous step and depict the same wing on the right side.
- Draw the stripe on the belly.
Sketch out a small horizontal line between the wings.
- Depict the glow.
From the belly, draw three stripes in different directions to depict light rays.
- Correct inaccuracies.
Remove all unnecessary lines with an eraser.
- Color the firefly.
Use different shades of brown. Color the luminous belly in beige.
