The snake is a reptile with a long, writhing body. On our planet, there are a huge number of snakes that have different sizes and colors. Some types of snakes are very dangerous.
In the picture, you see a snake that raised its head up and stuck out its tongue a little. Pay attention to the color of the snake and in your drawing try to correctly depict the light and dark areas on the body of the snake. Take your time and be careful at every stage of drawing. If you carefully follow all the steps in this lesson, then in the future you can easily draw any snake if necessary.

- Pencil
- Paper
- Eraser
- Coloring supplies
Time needed:Â 30 minutes.
How to Draw a Realistic Snake
- Draw the head.
Determine the location and size of your drawing and draw a small, curved line.
- Add the head elements.
Draw the round eye, the mouth and the small tongue that is forked at the end.
- Depict the upper body of the snake.
Draw smooth lines down from the head, this will be the widest part on the body of the snake.
- Continue drawing the body of the snake.
At this stage, continue the lines and depict the narrower part of the snake’s body.
- Sketch out the next section of the body.
Continue the lines and depict the next part of the body in the same position as in the example.
- Draw the bend.
Continue drawing the body of the snake and use smooth lines to draw a large curve.
- Add another curve.
Draw two smooth, curved lines at the bottom.
- Depict the rest of the body.
Draw a long, curved line at the very bottom.
- Color the realistic snake.
For coloring, you will need several shades of brown.
