In this drawing guide, I will show you how to draw clouds step by step. I’m sure you will be able to get this task done, as this tutorial consists of just eight very simple steps. With these instructions, any child or beginner artist can draw the clouds.
You have seen clouds many times, but do you know enough about them? A cloud is a visible mass of liquid droplets, frozen crystals suspended in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth or other planetary body, such as a moon. Clouds look like they weigh little more than a tuft of cotton, but they’re heavier than they look. Your average cumulus cloud can weigh more than a million pounds, and a vivacious thunderstorm can pack billions or trillions of pounds of water in one tiny part of the sky.
So, let’s start drawing the clouds.
Materials
- Pencil
- Paper
- Eraser
- Coloring supplies
Time needed: 20 minutes
How to Draw Clouds
- Draw the bottom outline of the cloud.
This step is simple enough, you just need to draw one straight horizontal line.
- Add a part of the upper outline.
On the left side, add two rounded lines that look like semicircles.
- Complete the outline of the cloud.
Add two smaller semicircles on the right side of the cloud.
- Start drawing the second cloud.
Draw it with the curved line on the right side of the cloud you drew earlier.
- Complete the drawing of this cloud.
Add two semicircles of different sizes to connect this cloud to the previously drawn one.
- Draw the part of another cloud.
Depict this cloud partially covered by another cloud. Use a curved line.
- Add the rest part of the cloud.
Draw two curved lines to connect this cloud to the one you drew earlier.
- Color the drawing.
To color the clouds, you should use different shades of blue.
