There are a huge number of countries and factories that can produce the fighter jets. These planes will differ from each other in small details, but the process of drawing them will be approximately the same.
In this lesson on how to draw a combat jet, I will show you the basic principles of how to correctly depict all the necessary details, and how to use the simplest methods to get a very beautiful result.

How to Draw a Fighter Jet
- Draw the body of the fighter jet.
Determine the size of your drawing and depict the elongated, pointed body of the airplane. Please note that the appearance of fighters may vary depending on the model.
- Depict the cockpit of the jet.
Draw the rounded bulge at the top of the body of the airplane. Here we are only drawing the cockpit itself, but you can of course also try to draw the pilot inside.
- Sketch out the tail fins fo the plane.
At the top of the plane, draw two figures of the same shape as in my example. When drawing this part of the body, try to maintain proportionality and make both fins the same size.
- Start drawing the wings.
Draw smooth lines to the sides from the airplane body. Please note that the wing closest to us should be slightly larger than the one further away from us.
- Add the sides of the wings.
Draw connecting lines on each wing to create a closed loop. By the way, those things on the edges of the plane’s wings are nothing more than air-to-air missiles.
- Draw the remaining elements of the plane.
Detail the back of the war plane and add the triangular shaped flame. This small detail will give your fighter aircraft drawing a more dynamic look.
- Detail the fighter jet.
Draw a smooth line at the nose of the plane and draw a line at the base of the wing. Also, you can add some design elements or lettering to make your fighter jet drawing more unique.
- Correct any inaccuracies.
Now you can carefully remove all the extra lines in your fighter aircraft drawing. Compare your artwork with ours to check any mistakes and correct them if you find them.
- Color your fighter jet drawing.
Color the body gray, paint the cockpit blue and paint the exhaust beige. Also, olive or khaki color is very often used for painting military aircraft.
