How to Draw a Carpet
- Draw the sides of the carpet.
Decide on the size of your carpet drawing and draw two parallel lines spaced evenly apart on your paper. These lines will form the top and bottom edges of your rug, serving as a guide for its width.
- Add the remaining sides.
Now, carefully draw two more straight lines perpendicular to the first ones you drew, connecting their ends. These will form the sides of your rug, completing the outline to create a perfect quadrilateral.
- Sketch the middle of the rug.
Inside the outline of your rug, draw a smaller quadrilateral to create an inner border. Use straight lines and make sure each corner is aligned with the outer edges to maintain the rug’s perspective.
- Depict the design on one side.
On one side, draw a series of triangles, placing them side by side along the edge. Ensure that the bases of the triangles are aligned with the inner border of the rug, and that they are evenly spaced.
- Add the pattern on the other side.
Replicate the previous step on the opposite side of the rug by drawing a series of triangles. Ensure they match the first set in size and spacing to maintain symmetry.
- Color your carpet drawing.
Select light brown and beige hues for coloring your carpet drawing. Use these soft shades to fill in the rug’s body and the decorative elements, creating a warm and inviting look.
